Survey Finds Marylanders Want More Renewable Energy

The Climate Communication Consortium of Maryland (CCCoM) and George Mason University recently released the results of a survey gauging the public’s support for renewable energy in Maryland.  More than 2,000 Marylanders participated in the survey from the western, central, southern, and eastern region which composed the following key findings:

  • Marylanders would like the state to utilize more renewable forms of energy;
  • Approximately 50 percent of the respondents believe Maryland should use less coal; and
  • The majority of Marylanders would be wiling to purchase renewable electricity and support electricity coming from renewable resources.
